Bangor University in Wales has now opened its top-rated nursing program to Canadian students looking to train for this challenging career and earn a BN(Hons). This is a perfect opportunity for RPN’s who have been trained in Canada to earn a 3 year nursing degree especially given the extremely competitive nature of entry qualifications for nursing degrees here at home. But the deadline for applications is fast approaching. Documents must be submitted by Jan 31st 2019. The course consists of several clinical weeks throughout the program for those looking to gain more practical experience. And the university has scored a gold-rating for teaching excellence which makes studying there even more attractive. Here’s a look at some of the skills which the course will provide:
Registered nurses who hold adult field registration (and additional registerable qualifications, for example prescribing or teaching) care for the needs of people across the lifespan, including safeguarding the health of mother and baby. You will be able to experience a diversity of learning during placements in clinical areas where adult nurses practice which might include:
- Acute sector general and specialist medical and surgical nursing
- Critical care nursing (intensive and high dependency care, emergency department, theatres and recovery)
- Community nursing in the home environment and primary care
Adult nursing offers a range of interesting and worthwhile careers in healthcare with opportunities available to develop skills and knowledge in diverse areas, such as: leadership, advanced clinical practice, education or research.
The Adult Nursing Program qualifies you to work as an RN in the UK. Anyone returning to Canada must undergo the same assessment process as any other internationally trained nurse.
