Bangor University is noted as having an ongoing commitment to sustainability. As part of this core value, the University has just announced that it is one of the signatories for the New Plastics Economy Global Commitment.
The initiative is led by the Ellen MacArthur Foundation in collaboration with the UN Environment Committee. It was launched at an “Our Ocean” Conference this past November. Bangor is one of 40 global universities which has made this commitment.
The University says that sustainability is at the heart of teaching, learning and research and innovation at Bangor. In addition to this, the University has a Biocomposites Centre which is at the forefront of research and development and commercial application for biobased alternatives to synthetic materials used in manufacturing and industry.
Reflecting its values of sustainability and the commitment to healthy oceans, Bangor is also known for its diverse offerings of Marine Sciences programs.
