The University of Dundee has just announced that it has been rated among the world’s best universities in terms of the scientific impact of its research. The Leiden rankings examine work from more than 1000 institutions which offers insight into their scientific performance.
Dundee has earned an impressive 15th spot, for the highest proportion of highly cited citations. This is based on the proportions of the most cited 1% of articles across all disciplines.
Equally notable is that in regards to this important marker of research quality, Dundee is ranked the highest placed university in Scotland. The University is ranked just slightly behind Oxford and Cambridge overall.
The University of Dundee is located just five minutes away from the centre of town with a variety of bars, restaurants, cultural events and nightlife. Dundee is known for its relatively small size (150,000 people) as well as its safety and affordability. The campus itself is noted for its vibrant student life, excellent student support and many convenient amenities. An added bonus; Scotland’s four main airports also make it easy (and affordable) to reach the main centres of the UK and Europe, and the new Dundee-Amsterdam route opens up even more possibilities for travel.
