Are you interested in studying law in the UK? Barclay Educational Services is pleased to once again welcome the University of Leicester Law Faculty to Hamilton, Ont on November 13th McMaster Innovation Park, Room 1AB at 6 pm. Come visit and ask questions about programs courses, campus life and what it’s like to study in the UK.
Leicester Law is an extremely popular destination for Canadian students. In fact, approximately a third of the 300 or so students enrolled in the Law program are from Canada. There are a couple of reasons that the UK is so attractive to students who wish to study law. Firstly, the 3 yr LLB program is accessible directly from high school. In addition, there is also a 2 year Accelerated Law program which is open to students who have already obtained an undergraduate degree.
In both cases, the shorter time frames do not reflect a less comprehensive course of study than here in Canada. The major difference is that students focus on core courses only, minus electives, which allows completion of the necessary qualifications in less time. Upon returning to Canada, students will be required to write approximately 5 to 7 qualifying exams, but the degrees are readily transferable to Canada. Watch the video below to see one Leicester grad who is now back home working in law.
