Did you know that Keyhole Surgery was pioneered at the University of Dundee? That’s just one of many reasons you should explore this postgraduate degree (MSc) if you are interested in Biomedical Engineering. Throughout the program, students will develop skills, knowledge, and an understanding of biomedical engineering and living systems. The program focuses on how to apply engineering principles and design methods to create new techniques and instruments in medicine and surgery.
In addition to these skills, students will examine the role of entrepreneurship, business development, and intellectual property exploitation in the biomedical industry.
Students will also have the chance to undertake a research project, with the help of academic staff that will focus on a specific area of interest. This will help develop presentation, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. Recent projects examples have looked at syringe filling systems for new born injections, and microwave cancer thermal ablation in minimally invasive surgery.
