Access to Housing is a critical issue in many places around the world. This postgraduate program at the University of Stirling, will introduce students to the most up-to-date ideas and debates in housing and offer them the opportunity to learn about the cutting edge of housing practice.
The MSc/PgDip Housing Studies (with internship) course fully integrates all of the academic and practice components of the professional qualification of the Chartered Institute of Housing. This includes a 10-week structured, assessed work experience internship, which sets up graduates for a ‘fast track’ into a career with housing organisations in the social, voluntary and private sectors.
This program course examines all aspects of housing services. This includes sustainable communities, governance and law, housing organisations, and health and wellbeing.
It will provide students with a comprehensive academic and professional qualification with structured work experience. After completing the course, the qualifications will offer a direct route into employment in the housing sector. The Diploma internship can also form the output necessary to achieve a Masters qualification.
This MSc program can be completed in one full year (12 months) of study. The program is led by a team of academics who comprehensively cover the multi-disciplinary nature of housing, research, policy and practice. Research-led teaching draws on specialist expertise in policy analysis, homelessness and housing rights, social theory, housing as well as land market analysis.
