About the Program:
Students develop core skills in animation and develop a deeper understanding of timing and animation principles in action. This includes exploring both contemporary and contextual issues around design, while focusing on challenge and disruptive design behaviour. Students will also learn how Narrative builds characters whose performances drive the story. As well students will gain a deeper understanding of acting, empathising with their character and building a relationship with their character’s audience.
Students will develop a broader understanding of computer animation pipelines and their implementation in a commercial production environment. From concept through animation, compositing and editing, students will develop the skills needed to see their projects through to completion. In the final semester, students will work on their final Masters project by developing a body of work specific to their chosen area of animation production.
